It is a fact that, in recent years, Peru has driven significant investments in infrastructure, energy, connectivity, and tourism, while strengthening its capacity to generate employment, attract investment, and stimulate regional economies. Although challenges remain, the opportunities emerging today reflect a promising outlook, where innovation and the strategic use of the country's resources position Peru as a nation with enormous growth potential, both across Latin America and on the global stage. Peru is at a historic turning point and experiencing one of its most promising moments in terms of long-term development prospects.

Peru: South America's emerging hub

Saying that Peru is experiencing one of its most promising moments is far more than a statement of national pride—it is supported by the consolidation of strategic projects that are reshaping the continent's logistics landscape. Below are some of the most significant developments:

  • The Jorge Chávez Airport – Chancay Port Corridor: For the first time in its modern history, Peru will simultaneously operate a world-class international airport—three times larger than its previous facility, with the capacity to serve up to 40 million passengers annually—and a megaport with direct connectivity to Asia. Together, these two strategic infrastructures position the country as a key commercial gateway on the South Pacific.

  • Attracting Major Investment: The scale of these projects reflects the confidence that global investors continue to place in Peru. Despite periods of political uncertainty, the country's macroeconomic fundamentals have remained resilient, reinforcing its appeal as a destination for long-term investment and sustainable growth.

Peru is a remarkable opportunity

Peru's current growth potential is built on three key pillars that are already supported by tangible results and measurable progress:

  • Capacity to deliver large-scale projects: The new international airport, which has expanded from 200 to 950 hectares, demonstrates Peru's ability to successfully execute major infrastructure projects that meet the highest global standards in engineering, technology, and design. The project has also created employment opportunities for tens of thousands of Peruvians throughout its development.

  •  Decentralization and global connectivity: Infrastructure modernization extends far beyond Lima. With two runways and significantly greater cargo capacity, the new airport will enable agricultural exports, mining products, and other goods from regions across the country to reach international markets more efficiently and at lower costs, benefiting producers nationwide.

  • Human capital and formal employment: Peru's greatest strength is its people. Projects of this scale generate quality formal employment, with nearly 30,000 people expected to work in the Airport City. This not only creates a highly skilled workforce but also strengthens domestic consumption and supports long-term economic growth.

The message is clear: Peru is experiencing a historic moment of opportunity. Making the most of it will require continued collaboration between the public and private sectors, as well as civil society, to build a more competitive, resilient, and future-ready nation. At the same time, there has never been a better moment to discover Peru—a country where remarkable transformation, rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality come together to create truly unforgettable experiences.
