Cusco has one of the world's most developed touristic industries. A wide array of hotels to fit the styles of every traveler. On our most recent trip, we made three stops in in Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu, where we had the chance to enjoy the ammenities of a series of hotels that became shelter to our dreams.
Let us share with you what we liked most about each of them, to help you pick the best one for your next visit to this world-class destination.
Ava Spots
Connect with Nature - Sacred Valley
Truly connecting with a destination, means disconnecting from the screens. This hotel makes it easy to be present, to enjoy quality company, as you recharge with energy from the mountains, and the rustling sounds of water. But if entirely necessary, you can always find Wi-Fi at the front desk or at the restaurant - which, by the way - has a varied menu of full-sized portions. We highly recommend a hot sopa criolla (creole soup), to warm the body and soul.
Hatun Inti Classic
Excellent hosts- Machu Picchu Town
A delightful three-star hotel, with a five-star quality service. Excellent hosts, with an absolute disposition to tend to the needs - and the occasional mishap - of their passengers. Start the day off with a rich breakfast buffet served since 4 AM, in a lounge that offers a panoramic view to the green mountains, the perfect prelude to kick off the day’s adventures.
Palacio del Inka
Deluxe Dreams - Cusco City
A hotel turned into art. Learn more about the pieces that are displayed along its corridors, by partaking in tours organized exclusively for guests. Deep rest in its luxury rooms, where their feather pillows feel like laying your head on clouds. Recharge with a plentiful and varied breakfast buffet, paired with live music. Its strategic location makes it the perfect spot to start cruising to the highlights in the city. A travelers' favorite ranked among the best in the Tripadvisor's Choice Awards o Condé Nast Traveler Readers Choice Awards.
Xima Cusco
Eco-modernity- Cusco City
A modern proposal, that makes a clear stance on its ecologic approach, as you set foot in the door, with a water refiller situated at the entrance. Strategically located in the Avenue El Sol - one of Cusco’s thoroughfare streets - that offers an alluring sight for those with a balcony view. Comfortable rooms, and traveler-oriented service, where breakfast can be prepared to-go, when expeditions start at dawn.
Cusco Tierra Viva San Blas
Essentially Authentic - Cusco City
An old colonial home with shingle-tiles roofs, of modern interiors, but plenty in local identity. Located in the upper-side of Cusco, away from the urban bustle, but located in the artistic heart of the city - the San Blas neighborhood is surrounded by galleries and gastronomic concepts, that offer nights of bohemia and unparalleled panoramic views of Cusco.
Hotel Hacienda del Perú
Large Group Able - Cusco City
Ample, comfortable rooms, and last generation Spanish showers, ideal to relax after the adventure of the day. A traditional hotel, recently relaunched with a contemporary twist. It's an ideal lodging experience for big groups, due to its ample spaces, and a vehicle entrance that allows easy access for larger groups.
